A horrifying event unfolded at the yearly Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally in Red River, New Mexico, last Saturday, resulting in the death of at least three individuals and five others injured, according to Mayor Linda Calhoun. Following the incident, one severely injured victim was airlifted to a Denver-based hospital, as disclosed by the New Mexico State Police (NMSP). Initial updates from the NMSP indicated two casualties and six wounded. Medical treatment was provided to the victims at the Holy Cross Hospital in Taos and the University of New Mexico Health in Albuquerque, approximately 170 miles northward of the incident’s location.
The authorities have since affirmed that all individuals associated with the shooting are now in custody. Mayor Calhoun, in her communication with CNN, revealed, “The perpetrators involved were all biker gang members.” NMSP further guaranteed that the situation was efficiently controlled with no residual risk to public safety.
